Dr. Jo Handelsman is a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Professor and Frederick Phineas Rose Professor in the Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology at Yale University. She received her Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1984 and she served on the faculty at the University of Wisconsin I was born in Israel but spent most of my life in Spain, where I completed both my B.A. in English Studies and a M.A. in Advanced English Studies and Secondary Education, from the University of Valencia. Outcomes Handelsman lab Postdoc Amanda Hurley addressed student-sourcing antimicrobial discovery through Tiny Earth to promote plant health at the 14th Annual JGI Genomics of Energy & Environment Meeting on April 4, 2019.
